Tibetan Wood Carving with Master Craftsman, Sampa Lhundup

Study the methods and meanings of Tibetan carving traditions with third generation wood and stone carver, Sampa Lhundup.

Sampa will lead a two day workshop where participants will use handmade  woodcarving tools to create a panel from buddhist decorative motifs.

The two day workshop will offer instruction in the safe use of hand carving tools for  wood and the expertise to help you craft your own choice of designs. In addition to  workshop instruction, a traditional Tibetan lunch, tea, and snacks will be offered on  Sunday.

No prior carving experience is necessary. All tools and materials will be provided.

Sampa is a third generation craftsman who has taught at the Namgyal Monastery,  residence of the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala, India.
