Do you want to go painting outside, but you don’t know how to get started?  Are you wanting to learn to paint with oil paints, but you just haven’t put all the pieces together? In this beginning, plein air painting workshop participants will have the opportunity to complete a plein air painting in oils. All materials will be provided.  Participants will explore:

• The beauty and basics of working with oil paints
• The basics of composing a painting outdoors including identifying large shapes
• The importance of values
• Mixing colors
• Beginning elements of perspective and atmosphere
• Palette knife techniques
• The gear set up for painting outside
